#DoOneThing this World Mental Health Day and join the fight!

By 4 October 2021No Comments

We want you to #DoOneThing for World Mental Health Day on the 10th of October. The day is a chance to speak out, spread the word and make change happen. And that’s where you come in.

The pandemic has put the mental health of millions at risk. Access to mental health services remains unequal and this is something we want to change. With your help we can provide support for everyone – whatever their race, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability or class.

Did you know that:

· People in the poorest fifth of the population are twice as likely to be at risk of developing mental health problems as those on an average income.

· Black people are 4x more likely to be detained under the Mental Health Act than White people.

· In 2020 1 in 6 young people had a mental health problem (compared to 1 in 10 in 2017)

Will you #DoOneThing and join the fight for equal mental health support for everyone?

You could do one thing and:

· Access information and support for either yourself or someone close to you who is struggling with poor mental health.

· Consider making a donation to North East Lincolnshire Mind

· Volunteer today and be part of the volunteers supporting us with every aspect of the work that we do.

· Fundraise for us so we can continue to carry out our work.

· Keep updated on the work we are doing and ways you can get involved by signing up to our mailing list here.

· Share our resources on social media and use these as a conversation starter about mental health.

We hope we have inspired you to #DoOneThing this World Mental Health Day and join the fight! For more information visit our webpage nelmind.org.uk/doonething/
